It seems like the setting for an epic story of medieval struggles or a location straight out of 'Game of Thrones', but this impossible town hanging from a cliff that defies gravity exists and is in Spain. Specifically, we can find it in the Garrotxa mountain range of Girona under the complex name of Castellfollit de la Roca.
What to see in Castellfollit de la Roca, Girona
Castellfollit de la Roca stands imposingly on a basaltic cliff 50 meters high, which arises from two ancient lava flows with the Fluvià river running at its feet. Given the particularity of its orography, the alleys of the old town are narrow and very crowded, because all the houses have to fit in that narrow piece of land at the heights.

This town has been scanning the horizon since the Middle Ages and in its past splendor it even had walls, which fell in the earthquakes of 1427. Its main street leads in a sinuous manner from one end of the cliff to the other, where the church of San Salvador is located, a 13th century Renaissance temple converted into a cultural center with a beautiful bell tower that allows you to admire the entire landscape. Just in front there is a huge terrace known as the Mirador Josep Pla, with the same spectacular views.
