Makeup artists agree to rejuvenate your look: "Apply long-lasting black eye pencil to the upper water line, creating an optical effect that gives the impression that we have more eyelashes."

It is true that we talk a lot about how hair loses density over the years, especially after the age of 50, but we do not pay as much attention to what happens with the eyelashes. And they also suffer the effects of aging, becoming progressively thinner and less abundant. Therefore, one of the great anti-aging makeup tricks focuses on enhancing the eyelash line.

Eyelashes are very important when it comes to transforming your look. Not only do they help frame the eyes, but the eyelashes add depth and freshness. In this sense, makeup always has something to contribute: “The tightlining “It is a technique that is used in makeup to achieve an effect of thick eyelashes without the need for an eyeliner,” explains makeup artist Kuki Giménez, director of Let's Make Up School and spokesperson for Druni.

Beyond the classic eyeliner that goes above the eyelashes and that if we do it with strategy works very well to lift a drooping eyelid, we must keep in mind that there are other types of techniques. One of them is the tightlininga practically invisible eyeliner that is done on the upper water line and that manages to provide greater visual density to the eyelashes.

According to the expert, with this type of invisible eyeliner, the result is a greater volume effect on the eyelashes, without the need to outline the eyelid. “The technique consists of applying makeup by filling in the gaps that exist between eyelashes, trying to make it so natural that it looks like the eyelash itself and that it has not been made up,” explains the makeup artist.

The key to ensuring the result is long-lasting and does not smudge is to opt for a long-lasting pencil. This way the outline will remain in place, the result will be clean and will not be smudged after a few hours. “The ideal is to apply permanent black pencil or long-lasting gel between the gaps of the eyelashes and also on the upper water line,” says Giménez.

The makeup artist and content creator Alba de la Cruz also highlights the good work of this makeup trick from her social networks. “It is important that the eye pencil or gel you use is quite long-lasting. You can't use something that moves easily because then it won't last,” she says.

Applying the black pencil on the waterline A big difference is created if we compare one eye with another. Alba shows how the eyelash line acquires much more intensity, creating an optical effect that makes them appear fuller and that we have a greater amount of hair. “For me it is a touch that greatly frames the eyelashes and makes a lot of difference in the look,” explains the expert.

Furthermore, the makeup artist highlights that “if you are a person who curls your eyelashes a lot and they stay up very high, so much so that you see the water line, I recommend that you try this trick because you will notice that your eyelashes are much fuller,” says de la Cruz.
