Helena Rodero, pharmacist: "If you're tired of the tyranny of dyes, this is the best and most respectful way for your hair to completely transition to gray."

Gray hair is part of the natural hair aging process, but while there are women who prefer to cover it and wear trendy hair colors, others instead choose to show it off with pride. The reasons may be various, but one of the most common is because they decide not to slave away with dyes or visits to the hairdresser every month.

Furthermore, looking gray does not mean giving up beautiful, well-kept hair full of personality. Quite the opposite: when gray hair receives the care it needs, it can look spectacular, with shine, softness and a healthy appearance. Nowadays, there are many ways to wear gray hair, from techniques that subtly integrate it with the rest of the hair to the option of showing it off naturally, enhancing its luminosity and beauty.

Pharmacist Helena Rodero says on her Instagram that the problem with dyes is that you have to cover your gray hair every 15 or 20 days. “The best way is to let the entire root grow until you have the entire length of gray hair,” says the expert. This is the most respectful option for the hair, as it avoids the application of dyes and other chemicals during the process.

Now, the expert emphasizes that “having beautiful gray hair is very difficult because gray hair tends to turn yellow because it is much more easily damaged by the sun, by heat… and then you will have to use specific treatments,” emphasizes Rodero.

In any case, we know that growing your hair to go gray can be a long and tedious process, since for a time you have to live with two different tones in your hair, something that not everyone is willing to do. Therefore, today there are hairdressing techniques that facilitate this transition, softening the contrast between gray roots and dyed hair. In this way, the gray hair progressively integrates with the rest of the hair and the color change is much more natural and flattering.
