Zara, Massimo Dutti and Mango agree: the minimalist fashion of the 90s is back and these are the essentials to dress well

Elegance and simplicity (almost) always go hand in hand. Therefore, to return to the routine this fall, we focus on one of the many decades that are trending this season: the 90s. The golden era of minimal style with Calvin Klein at the helm and a renewed concept of power suit that Armani created back in the 70s.

Our muses? Julia Roberts on the red carpet with an oversized tailored suit or the iconic Carolyne Bessete with a black pencil skirt on the streets of New York, are our main inspiration to create this selection of five essential pieces to dress well in September (and in the fall) of 2026.

Five 90s style clothes for September 2026

We like this extra-loose gray blazer for its shoulder pads, its double-breasted closure and its nineties aura that looks so good with a slip dress or tailored Bermuda shorts. It is a hybrid between a fine knit jersey and a white cotton t-shirt that couldn't be more nineties (especially because of the Perkins collar and the design of the sleeves) for 15.99 euros.
