Showing off a big, open look is possible with the right tools, and of course mascara is the star product, but if we want to go much further, and have the eyelashes lift well from the roots without having to resort to the eyelash curler, then the trick is to use a cotton swab.
This is a very simple trick and for which we do not need any sophisticated or hard-to-find tools. With a classic cotton swab we will help ourselves so that the eyelashes are highlighted, defined and the look is transformed as if it were a beauty treatment.
The makeup artist Mónica Martínez reveals this trick from her social networks (@monicamartinez.es) and it is perfect for applying the mascara well from the roots, since many times when we pass the gupillón we cannot reach the roots well and this is something that changes everything. In this case, the stick serves as a support point and in this way, the mascara enters the eyelashes much better.
Lifted and defined eyelashes
The trick itself is to place the stick behind the upper eyelashes, close to the root. Here the swab acts as a barrier to avoid staining the eyelid while the product is applied and at the same time, it will function as a support to gently push the mascara inward.
This way it will be much easier to lift the eyelashes from the roots and make them separate and defined. The important thing here is to do it gently and work with thin layers. As it is easier to reach the base of the eyelashes, the curvature will be greater and the eyelashes will look prettier from the bottom to the tips.
The advantage of this trick
The big difference when using the cotton swab is that the eyelashes can be worked on completely. Many times what happens is that the mascara brush does not reach the roots well and then the eyelashes do not lift as much as they should to be curled. Furthermore, if the product is focused from the middle to the ends, what can happen is that the eyelashes end up falling due to the weight.
It is important that each application of the mascara is with the brush not too loaded. It is better to work in thin layers so that there are no clumps, the eyelashes do not become caked and the product spreads well throughout the entire eyelash.
Another advantage of using the swab is that it protects the skin of the eyelid and avoids that unsightly result of a stained eyelid. Hence, it is a good trick to prevent this from happening, especially when you don't have much time to put on makeup, but you don't want to give up the good work of a mascara.
