Although the most famous Christmas market in Madrid (and, probably, in all of Spain) is the one in the Plaza Mayor, it does not open its doors until the last days of the month of November arrive. However, in a year in which at the end of September the first Christmas items could already be found in some shops, we can also say that a market has been inaugurated early in the capital.
This is the Nuevos Ministerios market or El Corte Inglés de la Castellana, installed in the outdoor parking area and with direct access from the Nuevos Ministerios station. It was inaugurated on November 13 and can be visited until January 5, 2026, with free admission.

The proposal combines commerce, leisure and gastronomy under a format in the style of the market European Christmas However, although there are also booths dedicated to crafts and typical Christmas decorations, this one is mainly focused on the gastronomic section.
In this way, the visitor will find from positions and food trucks from forms as recognizable as Arzábal, Malvon, El Brillante, New York Burger, Cañitas Maite or Pollos Muñoz, to sweet proposals such as The Cookie Lab, Demasié, Vicens nougats or San Ginés churros. Although this year there are also new additions such as Café de París, Tepic or Kricky Pelton.

In addition, the market has a light and music show projected on the building located directly in front. The general schedule is from 12:00 to 22:00 (although the restoration time extends until 23:00), with some exceptions on key dates such as December 24 and 31. Of course, it will be closed on December 25 and January 1.
It is ideal for those looking to buy gifts without stress inside a shopping center, try different culinary proposals or simply walk around to see the lights and start soaking up the Christmas atmosphere now. It is normal that this market is establishing itself as one of the most recurrent urban plans in recent winters in Madrid.
