The haircut recommended by experts after 50: adds volume and rejuvenates

Posted on 12 September 2026

When we look for inspiration among medium-length haircuts, bob hair in all its versions are usually the ones chosen. In general, the bob cut stands out for its versatility, but also for the style it adds to any look. But those who should take this cut into account are undoubtedly fine hair without too much volume.

In this field of enhancing fine hair, the bob haircut is the best option, and more specifically the short bob with texture. Strategic layering and a relaxed finish are key.

This version of the classic bob cut is characterized by wearing inner layers, which emphasize the hair from the middle to the ends and also has a slight inclination towards the collarbones. This makes the cut look much more attractive and modern, but it also makes the neck very stylized.

And although we already like it a lot without bangs, we have to say that with bangs it looks super awesome. The long, blunt bangs fit very well with this short hair and the style that works best is the swept bangs framing the look.

But as you can see, beyond the cut itself, what really matters is the way you style it. This short hair gains a lot of points by adding lateral volume, for which we always recommend round brushes, whether the classic ones or the electric brushes that are so popular. The final touch is achieved by texturing the ends with a styling product such as hair waxes to achieve a casual touch.
