How to wear flared jeans and boots to the office with style this fall-winter 2026/2027

Posted on 31 October 2026

If a few years ago they told me to wear jeans flare to the office is not only acceptable, but also stylish, you wouldn't have believed it. My first steps at work occurred in a bank and suit fever took hold of me. Luckily, the rules have changed and there are perfectly acceptable jeans for a professional look.

Of course, not everything goes: torn, worn and frayed ones are prohibited. It is also advisable to avoid decorations, such as studs, glitter or lace (a fairly niche trend this season). To get it right, it is best to go for a minimalist aesthetic and accompany our (discreet) bell-bottom jeans with sensible heeled ankle boots. These would be the keys to take away flared jeans to work.

Zara

If we talk about sophisticated jeans that play tricks, these from Zara even have a pleat emulating the classic tailored pants. Their high waist and dark blue color manage to multiply their elegance, making them my favorites to go to work for 35.99 euros.

Latouche ankle boots

To complete the look I would choose pointed but discreet ones with a block heel that adds centimeters but without excess. These in red wine color from Latouche also have a sock effect silhouette that does not interfere with the movement of the hood. We have them in El Corte Inglés for 89 euros.

Zara Baggy Jeans

A more casual option than the previous jean is this loose flared design, with square front pockets and a high waist inspired by the 70s. To complete the look, I would emulate the style of feminist icon Gloria Steinem by combining them with a turtleneck and elbow-length sleeves. The jeans are from Zara and are available for 39.95 euros.

And, what's more 70s vibes than platforms? These Wonders ankle boots with a sensible heel integrate it discreetly and are ideal for completing the retro office look. They are made of chocolate brown leather and are available at El Corte Inglés for 139 euros.

Massimo Dutti Jeans

Massimo Dutti

At Massimo Dutti they sell another hybrid between flare jeans and tailored pants. A design in gray denim effect that is super original and at the same time minimalist. The clip in this case gains prominence and the belt loops are identical to those on dress pants. We have it for 59.95 euros.

Mustang Boots

Mustang

Its wide leg allows you to opt for the high-top boot, even, if you feel like it, giving it prominence by tucking your pants in on occasion. These Mustang ones with a block heel and fine toe are ideal for this look and to take advantage of them on the weekend with a midi dress for 99.95 euros.
