Helena Rodero, pharmacist: "To cover the gray hair well with the dye, what we have to do is deposit it as if we were putting it on a scalp."

Applying dye at home may seem like a simple task, but the technique with which the product is distributed is as important as the color we choose. The root area requires special attention, since it is common for it not to be completely covered, giving rise to differences in tone or even visible gray hair.

Therefore, it is always good to know the tricks of those who know the most. And to achieve a uniform and professional finish, there are small details that can make a big difference in the final result. Furthermore, if we have gray hair, applying the dye with the proper technique is essential to ensure good coverage and avoid leaving areas where the color has not set correctly.

The pharmacist Helena Rodero usually talks a lot about how to beautify and care for gray hair, and in one of her videos, she explains the best way to apply the dye so that the roots are absolutely perfect.

According to the expert, “the way of applying the dye is almost more important than the dye itself. We cannot drag the dye, what we have to do is deposit it on the scalp,” she points out. In this way, the dye will perfectly cover the root line and the white hair line will not be visible even a little bit.

Therefore, many times after applying the dye, we can continue to see that we can see a little bit of gray hair growth, and this happens because “if you stand on top of the already colored hair, you will create stripes and the gray hair will appear to be less covered,” says Rodero.

To prevent this from happening, the expert recommends taking the product “only on the tip of the brush, and applying it only to the growth area as if you were putting it on the scalp.”
