MINT MATE is a new campaign from MINT Wear who is on a mission to change this. This Movember, for every pair of underwear sold until November 30, $5 will be donated to Movember.
It is their hope that during Movember – a global charity tackling men’s mental health and suicide prevention – MINT Wear can shed light on men’s mental health, break the stigma, encourage mates to check in on each other, normalise feelings, and stop men dying too young.
MINT Wear is Aotearoa’s first truly inclusive underwear brand for men of all ages and body shapes. Developed by three childhood friends from South Auckland - former All Black and international rugby player Jerome Kaino, creative director Bayon Kim and managing director Rocky Lokeni - the boys all struggled to find underwear that fit their different lifestyles. They needed something that didn’t ride up, itch, or chafe while being timeless, durable and comfortable.
Handcrafted from buttery soft and sustainable bamboo fabric, MINTs ethos is one of quality, effortless style and meticulous attention to detail. From the breathable material that pulls away moisture to the mesh cool zones for enhanced airflow, the anti-chafe strips that stop ride-up to the tagless design and no-roll waistbands, MINT is designed to move with a man, no matter who he is or what he does.
‘All men, no matter their size, colour, shape or age, deserve to feel confident in their underwear,’ says creative director Bayon Kim. ‘We hope MINT can play a small part in that, because when you feel good your state of mind becomes one of self-belief, positivity and confidence.’
