There is no need for Dabiz Muñoz to swear that we are not ready for his new nougats. Their latest flavors are crazy

Posted on 3 January 2026

Dabiz Muñoz is one of the best chefs in history and has four Michelin stars, three in DiverXo and one in RavioXo. It is no coincidence that he was elected the Best Chef in the World for three consecutive years. Every Christmas he becomes even more famous thanks to the nougats he designs for El Corte Inglés. They are called “Turrock & Roll with the XO seal by Dabiz Muñoz” and as the chef himself explained: “You are not ready for this… Let's see how I explain it to you.” You don't have to swear. I wasn't prepared when I saw what flavor it was.

My director at Trendencias Raquel Rodríguez comments that last year they gave her one “and it was delicious. It was like a cloud of sweets covered in sugar,” she explains. I doubt that the one who invented this year will follow in that footsteps because when we thought we had seen it all, chef Dabiz Muñoz arrives and makes a circular-shaped margherita pizza nougat.

The nougat pizza margherita is white chocolate and mozzarella, with tomato and basil jam, sweet pesto and crispy pizza edges. With a price of 16.90 euros in El Corte Inglés for a 250 gram tablet.

Not only is there this one, there is also a Chicken Waffle nougat with chicken waffle flavor, caramelized waffle praline, salted caramel, pearl sugar and fried chicken batter; another from Cookies & Cream grilled with cookies and Häagen-Dazs smoked cream; and a quarter of Texmex nachos, with crunchy polka dots, citrus caramel and tajine syrup. All with the same price and available at El Corte Inglés.

On his social networks he kicked off this sugary madness with a story, and I'm still in shock. I have nothing against innovation, creativity and giving free rein to the imagination. And it's not the first time someone has invented unconventional, or even crazy, flavors for sweet dishes. For example, the fabada ice cream from Heladerías Llinares in Valencia, or the anchovy ice cream from 1977 Iced Things in Madrid. But just because it can be done… does it mean it has to be done? Until we try them, we won't know if it's genius or senseless madness destined to earn a little more at Christmas thanks to the fact that it gives a lot of people to talk about.
