The winning formula for when you don't feel like cooking: baby potatoes already in the air fryer

Posted on 5 February 2026

It is very likely that the potato is one of the most misunderstood ingredients in the kitchen. There is a general prejudice that, since they are rich in complex carbohydrates (that is, starch), they are unhealthy. However, its bad reputation derives from how it is cooked because the truth is that the potato itself is a nutritious and highly satiating food that provides few calories when prepared boiled or cooked.

Furthermore, if you always have a jar of cooked baby potatoes in the pantry, they are a wonderful life-saving food to serve an easy and light dish quickly, when you don't feel like cooking (much less peeling potatoes and waiting for them to cook). This recipe is reliable proof. It is made by putting four things that you already have in the refrigerator in a bowl, but it comes out of the oven (or air fryer) as if your grandmother had made it with a lot of love.

Ingredients

For 2 people

  • Cooked baby potatoes (about 7 or 8 units)
    280 g
  • Tomato sauce (two tablespoons)
  • canned tuna
    1
  • Grated mozzarella cheese
  • dried oregano

How to make healthy dinner in air fryer with potato

We drain about seven or eight cooked baby potatoes and put them in a dish suitable for oven or air fryer. Next, we mash them with the help of a fork until they become a puree.

Then, we spread a layer of tomato sauce on top and pour the contents of a can of tuna on top. We spread it to distribute it well over the entire surface and pour another layer of tomato sauce on top.

The final layer consists of sprinkling a handful of grated mozzarella cheese and also giving it a touch of oregano. Finally, we put the tray in the air fryer or in the oven at 200 degrees and in a maximum of a quarter of an hour you will have a very successful and delicious dish ready.

The exact times will depend on your oven and air fryer, but the dish is ready when the cheese has completely melted and begins to brown. Since everything is already cooked, no more time is needed.
