There is a town in Navarra that is perfect for seeing the solar eclipse in all its splendor. This is Arguedas, a magical town that, in a very small space, houses a 16th century church, a castle from the late Middle Ages, an ancient hermitage and even troglodyte homes excavated in the rock. And none of these wonders is the most incredible thing about this Navarrese corner.
With just one paragraph I have already given you plenty of reasons to discover this little town on the Navarrese riverside. However, the most popular reason to visit is that Arguedas is the gateway to the incredible Bardenas Reales, the Spanish lunar landscape that UNESCO fell in love with and that will be the most iconic setting in all of Spain to see the first of the three solar eclipses that are coming.
Northern Spain will go dark on August 12, with a historic total eclipse that has not been seen in more than a century. It will be especially visible in Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria or León, where even experts from the European Space Agency will go. However, Navarra offers the possibility of seeing it in the middle of an imposing desert, without any light pollution.

Las Bardenas Reales has the Starlight Tourist Destination certificate, which confirms the quality of its night sky, perfect for contemplating the cosmos and practicing astrophotography. The solar show will occur in this area between 7:33 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., reaching the totality zone at 8:28 p.m.

It will be like seeing the solar eclipse from the moon itself, very few people in the world can say something like that.
