Eindhoven is the fifth largest city in the Netherlands and is known as the City of Light. In fact, in 1891, Phillips was founded there, and it is there where the Glow Fest has been held since 2006, an annual light art festival considered the most important in the world. But this 2026 the light leaves the Netherlands to land in Latin America. It is the first time that it will leave Europe and it will do so so that the Historic Center of Puebla, in Mexico, can experience it for free from April 11 to 19, 2026.
For nine nights, a combination of art, light and technology will fill the streets and the interior of some buildings in Puebla in a free show that seeks to become a sensory experience for everyone. Distributed along 2.4 kilometers, 15 artistic interventions will be installed (nine by international artists and six by local talent, including one by Puebla students), which will occupy different emblematic spaces of the city, such as the Cathedral of Puebla, the Palafoxiana Library, the Teatro Principal, the Municipal Palace or the Temple of San Roque.

This urban experience will transform the Historic Center of Puebla into a night tour “where light reveals stories and dialogues with one of the most emblematic architectures in Mexico,” as explained by the organization itself. For example, the French artist Patrice Warrener will use his Chromolithe technique on the Cathedral of Puebla, one of the most emblematic monuments in Latin America. The Frenchman uses a technique that “paints” historic buildings with light through a composition of colors that will make the building look like never before.
On the Palafoxiana Library, to give you another example, the contents of books that normally cannot be seen will be projected directly on the façade. In addition to the buildings, you can enjoy works inside them in which light will continue to be the undisputed protagonist.

The arrival of Glow to Mexico is not just something cultural. It implies an economic and tourist impact because it is expected that more than 450 thousand people will come to enjoy this free festival. The circuit will be installed from April 11 to 19 from 7 to 11 p.m. in the streets of the historic center of Puebla. Without a doubt, a show that is worth seeing and that will put this Mexican city on the international map thanks to Glow México.
