The coast of Huelva continues to be largely unknown to the majority of Spaniards, who accumulate in the Mediterranean and forget these secret and very long beaches in the south. This is the case of Punta del Moral, a fishing neighborhood with kilometers of golden sand, restaurants and turquoise waters located between marshes and river mouths.
What to see in Punta del Moral, Huelva
Punta del Moral is a quiet corner of the municipality of Ayamonte, located in a privileged way between the marshes of Isla Cristina and the Carreras River delta. Its Atlantic waters are calm and its beaches are beautiful, with golden dunes of fine, soft sand that invite you to walk, rest or practice all the water sports that the area allows: from diving to windsurfingpassing through fishing and kitesurfing.

It is an environment where nature is the highlight, so we can do several hiking and walking routes, reaching the Guadiana River that marks the border between Spain and Portugal. 20 minutes away we also find the remains of a mausoleum from the 4th century, which indicate the existence of a Roman settlement in the area.

The Punta del Moral breakwater is quite a vision, which has become almost a symbol of the town. It is a beautiful area to walk, fish and enjoy the views, but it also makes the town safer: it protects the coast from waves and erosion, improves the safety of fishermen's boats and helps preserve the area.

The tides are very marked in Punta del Moral, rising and falling intensely and leaving small puddles and natural pools as they retreat, where the little ones will have a great time. It is not just a beach, it is a beach with hidden pools waiting to be discovered.
Where to eat cheap and delicious in Punta del Moral, Huelva

In addition to enjoying the beach and the warm climate, in Punta del Moral you can eat exquisitely. Local fishermen take care of this, bringing their daily catch to supply the restaurants with a ten-fold fresh fish. Among the star dishes that you can try are tuna with onions, coquinas, fried cuttlefish or cuttlefish in meatballs or seafood rice.

They are served in many restaurants, but being in a paradise like this and not eating in front of the sea is a crime. For this reason, our favorites to try it all are the beach bars: La Sonrisa, Los Pocitos and, especially, Entre Dunas, they have spectacular cuisine. The latter is only open during the summer months.
