The dish that Georgina Rodríguez repeats when she visits Asturias: “I love it”

Posted on 19 December 2025

I never thought I would say this, but Georgina Rodríguez represents me. At least in part.- It's not that it represents my lifestyle by any means. I am not a model, mother or influencer, but I share a passion with her: eating. The influencer has declared herself an absolute fan of serrano ham (always Iberian) and loin. So much so that even Netflix has used it for its advertisements.

But in addition to sausages, this lover of good food enjoys Spanish delicatessens as good as potato omelette. To promote the documentary series 'I'm Georgina' during an interview with Natalia Ferviú, “La tarotista”, she confesses that she likes to eat and that it is very difficult to say what her favorite dish is. “I like paella, potato omelette, croquettes… I really like sausages with wine, meatballs, chorizo sandwiches,” he said, adding that “when hungry, life has no meaning for me.” How right Gio is, for us he's not right either.

Fabada: the dish you repeat when you visit Asturias

In that interview he also revealed what his favorite Asturian dish is: fabada. For a good traditional-style Asturian fabada like the ones Gio likes the most, there are two tricks: good ingredients and a little patience. It is no coincidence that he likes this Asturian dish, because his sister Ivana lives in Gijón with her partner and two daughters and has tried the best from Asturias during her visits and on more than one occasion has uploaded images of her dishes. In 2024, for example, he visited Casa Trabanco, a traditional Asturian restaurant where he enjoyed the La sidrería area and ate fabada and cachopo with his family.

Although we need to eat to survive, in practice the act of eating is full of social and emotional meanings. For example, it has been proven that eating together strengthens relationships and makes us happy, and sharing preparation and eating together promotes “psychological flourishing” and family well-being because it improves communication, promotes cohesion, gives us a sense of belonging and generates positive emotions. Additionally, eating with other people helps reduce feelings of loneliness, anxiety and depression.

For Gio, food is more than food. It is an enjoyment and a social act. It is a moment to share with the people you love most. In the interview she stated that when she sees someone enjoying a meal with her, “I feel like they relax and are comfortable with me.”
