For those who do not know the coast of Tarragona, Calafat seems like a simple urbanization next to a speed circuit, which is on the way to some of the most beautiful towns in the area, such as Altafulla. However, this town and its beach are absolute Mediterranean jewels: exquisite restaurants and a stunning beach.
What to see in Calafat, Tarragona
Calafat has two kilometers of wild coast, with warm rock cliffs, golden sand coves and spectacular seabeds, where we can find many species and even sunken World War I ships. It belongs to the municipality of L'Ametlla de Mar, but its isolation among pine forests and far from tourist centers has allowed it to maintain its tranquility and virgin essence.

Its own beach is quiet and perfect for families. Right next door is the marina, ideal for lovers of water sports. It is not at all crowded and many boat excursions leave from it to discover this coastal area of Spain and access coves that can only be reached by sea. A great plan to disconnect with little to do, a lot to discover and Mediterranean calm to do it.

Among posh developments, pine trees and beautiful beaches is Les Veles, the only restaurant in the entire town. It has wonderful wines, Mediterranean recipes and fish and seafood brought directly from the market. Their galera and zamburiñas rice is a good example of this.
