Ourense is not only a beautiful city surrounded by enviable nature. It also has one of the most incredible thermal routes in all of Spain. It is called the Miño Thermal Route and it runs through several springs and open-air hot water pools, with a tradition of more than 2,000 years in time.
What is the route to the Miño hot springs, Ourense?
As Burgas thermal pool
This thermal route takes you through paths, gardens and walkways over the river to spas and thermal pools of the Miño River, ideal to visit in autumn and winter, when the hot water contrasts with the outside temperature and the steam creates a cozy, mysterious and homely atmosphere.

A Chavasqueira Hot Springs
The tour begins in As Burgas, some fountains in the old town of Ourense at 60 degrees with a free outdoor pool. Half an hour away, just below the Millennium Bridge and in a more natural environment, is the second stop: the A Chavasqueira hot springs. This Japanese-inspired thermal resort has a free area and a private area that costs about 5 euros.

O Muíño da Veiga Hot Springs
From here we go to Fonte do Tinteiro, a spring on the banks of the Miño without swimming pools to bathe in, but of very authentic beauty. Next to it are the O Muíño da Veiga Hot Springs, located in an old mill with open-air stone pools, water at 40 degrees and beautiful views of meadows and mountains.

Outariz Hot Springs
Outariz and its hot springs are the end point and culmination of this thermal route in Ourense. The Outariz Hot Springs are a 6.95 euro complex that recreates the onsen traditional Japanese, with indoor and outdoor pools, circuits and treatments. Very close are the Outariz Pools, public and open-air with walkways to cross the river.
How to get to the Miño hot springs

We can do the 12 kilometer route on foot, or we can take the iconic tourist train that leaves from the Plaza Mayor of Ourense and stops at several hot springs, such as Chavasqueira, Muíño da Veiga and Outariz. They have hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in both directions and cost 0.85 euros.
Where to eat cheap and delicious in the Miño thermal circuit

Very close to the Outariz hot springs is Parrillada As Carballas, with high quality local meats, squid, shrimp and octopus to fair exquisite and prices around 10 euros per person. Is there anything better than relaxing in hot water and then giving yourself a good tribute to the Galician style?
