When we think about the routine of an elite soccer player, one of the first things that comes to mind are diets controlled to the gram and almost military schedules. And yes, Lamine Yamal's life probably has a lot of that. But he has made it clear to us that he also has room to give himself small pleasures that bring him much closer to any teenager than to the almost unattainable image of a sports prodigy.
At the end of December 2025, the footballer showed a very different side during a house tour published on its official YouTube channel. While showing the corners of his house, he arrived at his room and left a confession that, far from talking about titles or football, ended up becoming one of the most human moments in the video.
The sweet vice that you don't plan to give up
When showing his bedroom, Lamine Yamal did not hide that he keeps cookies next to his bed. Up to that point it might seem like a simple anecdote, but it was the explanation that made everything take on an even more surreal meaning.
Laughing, he confessed that he was going to sleep early to wake up at dawn. However, it is not because of the pleasure of waking up early, looking at the time and saying “I can sleep more”:
“I eat cookies. I love it, it's my favorite plan. That's why I can't have a girlfriend, because I wake up at dawn (to eat cookies).”
The footballer did not give any further explanations, he simply made it clear that he loves cookies and that, sometimes, he wakes up during the night just to eat some. He did not say that it was a question of any nutritional strategy or any guideline related to his physical preparation, but that it would be a matter of personal taste.
An image that, as we already saw with Messi's culinary tastes, breaks quite a bit with the image of extreme discipline that is usually associated with professional athletes. Because yes, even someone whose diet is supervised can have a little whim that they don't want to do without.
A very adolescent habit in an unusual life
It is curious that one of Lamine Yamal's most spontaneous confessions has to do with a packet of cookies on the nightstand. While millions of people see him as one of the great talents in world football, he continues to have details and reactions that are reminiscent of any boy his age.
In the end, it is that mix between a life marked by early success, being part of the sporting elite even before reaching the age of majority and then adolescent habits such as getting up at dawn to snack on something is precisely what makes the player connect so much with people. Because, no matter how extraordinary his career is, there are times when Lamine Yamal continues to behave exactly like what he also is: a kid who is losing his sweet spot.
