There are those who pay thousands of euros to take a cruise through the Norwegian fjords, but they do not know that Spain has its own fjords that have nothing to envy of those in northern Europe.
This corner, hidden on the border with Portugal, is considered a Biosphere Reserve, has a beauty similar to the Nordic one and can be navigated, but almost no one knows it.
The Arribes del Duero Natural Park is west of Castilla y León, right at the point where the Duero River marks the border with the Portuguese country. There, millennia of water erosion have created navigable canyons of more than 100 kilometers, surrounded by immense steep rock walls, hundreds of meters high.

This fantasy place is not only beautiful, it is also home to many birds of prey such as golden eagles or vultures. Therefore, any excursion to this park has to go with binoculars, to be able to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. How to find out? The best way is with a river cruise.

Catamarans leave from the Natural Park pier and travel along a section of the Duero River for an hour, allowing us to discover this landscape from these international waters. It is a boat with a domed and transparent deck, heating and a bathroom that costs 18 euros (12 euros for children). Much cheaper than the cruise through the Norwegian fjords, but just as beautiful.
