Four-ingredient cookies by Sheila Ebana, mother of Lamine Yamal: easy, quick and economical recipe (ideal to make with children)

Posted on 26 August 2026

You don't need a long list of ingredients or spending hours in the kitchen to prepare a good homemade sweet. Sometimes all you need is an egg, a little flour and the desire to have fun. That is precisely what Sheila Ebana, mother of Lamine Yamal, demonstrated in a video shared on her social networks in which she makes cookies with her little son, Keyne.

It is a reel published on her Instagram profile, a few weeks ago, with the message: “Making cookies with Keyne, we hope you like our recipe.” An endearing mother and son moment to which even Lamine Yama himself reacted with humor, leaving a comment that did not go unnoticed: “I have never made cookies, I already know who the favorite is.”

Beyond the footballer's joke (who, by the way, has confessed that cookies are his weakness), the publication also drew attention for a recipe so simple that it is perfect to prepare with children during an afternoon at home or to get out of trouble when the craving for sweets appears. Without complicated techniques, without special utensils and using only a few basic ingredients that are almost always in any kitchen.

How to make easy four-ingredient cookies

Difficulty: Easy
  • Total time

  • Elaboration

  • Cooking

  • Repose
    10 min

The preparation begins by cracking the egg into a bowl and beating it until well mixed. Then add the three tablespoons of flour and stir until both ingredients are integrated.

Next comes the turn of sugar. Sheila adds a tablespoon, although her son insists on adding a little more and finally they both agree to add an additional half tablespoon before mixing again.

The next ingredient is butter, although you can also use margarine. Simply add a small amount and work the dough with your hands until you achieve a smooth and manageable texture.

Once ready, lightly sprinkle the countertop with flour and knead for a few moments so that it is uniform. Then you just have to stretch it with your hands or with a rolling pin until it has a similar thickness across the entire surface.

Of course, they don't have to be perfect. One of the nicest moments in the video comes when Sheila Ebana recognizes with a laugh that these are “cookies that have no shape.” Far from seeking a perfect result, mother and son create improvised figures: hearts, snakes, faces with eyes and all kinds of simple and imaginative shapes. However, those who prefer can also use cutters to achieve a more uniform finish.

With the cookies already formed, all that remains is to place them on a baking tray and put them in an oven previously preheated to 180 ºC for 10-12 minutes.

When they begin to brown around the edges, the cookies are ready to take out of the oven. Then you should let them cool for a few minutes before eating them. The result is some homemade cookies that are very quick, simple and economical to make that can be used both to accompany breakfast and as an improvised snack.
