In a Madrid where new restaurants grow every month, where Lebanese food merges with Argentinian food and metal plates become the protagonists of all the bars; where the cheek is mixed with bao bread, there is wayú sushi or cardamom and saffron ice cream, sometimes we just want a gazpacho and a tortilla skewer. No matter how big a fan we are of new flavors, the only thing we sometimes look for is to sit at one of those tables with a white tablecloth and be served traditional rice. When ordering a soupy lobster one, I don't know if there is anything better. Of course Dabiz Muñoz is with me and every time he goes to his favorite restaurant in the capital he orders this dish.
For a chef of such caliber to reveal his star place to eat in Madrid only implies one thing: that we have the overwhelming need to go and try it. It's called La Paloma II and it's a place where his parents took him when he was little. It is specifically in Marqués de Corbera, in La Elipa, a neighborhood business especially known for its rice with lobster. An exceptional place to feel like you are on the coast of Galicia, even if it is for a short while.
This is what the chef confessed in an interview with Cadena SER: “I love this place!” he insisted. And even though it is not in the center of the city, it is worth visiting this neighborhood to enjoy this rice. In addition, their prices are quite competitive because we have gone to take a look at the menu and it turns out that rice with lobster is 25 euros per person. Apparently the portions are quite substantial, so if three of you are going, ordering for two would be enough.
We do not forget that this is a neighborhood restaurant and that the space it houses is not too large. Inside it has eight tables, although it is true that there are two terraces outside, so you would have more space there. These days when the heat is infernal at midday, we recommend that you better go at night, so that you can sit outside without a problem and enjoy the experience 100%
