Dani García, chef, has the easiest and most delicious watermelon dish of the summer: slices of watermelon, feta cheese and the perfect dressing

Posted on 28 August 2026

Watermelon is one of the most versatile fruits for summer. It is perfect for a cool dessert, to take as a snack in a tupperware to the beach or pool, but also to include as a main course in your meals as well as at dinners. In fact, we love how it looks in salads, to give it a sweeter touch and break with the classic recipe based on lettuce, tomato and tuna. We have copied Chef Dani García's dish and we are ready to get to work.

The chef has shared with his followers on social networks the step by step to make his simple recipe for watermelon slices with feta cheese and a very flavorful dressing. A kind of watermelon carpaccio that many call a salad, because it works like both in any meal. The best? It's finger-licking good and takes only five minutes.

Ingredients for watermelon carpaccio

  • Watermelon
  • feta cheese
  • Eucalyptus honey
  • Eucalyptus candies
  • Peppermint leaves
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt

The step by step to achieve a chef's result

To begin, we cut the watermelon into very thin slices, looking for a thickness similar to that of a carpaccio. They do not need to be transparent: the important thing is that they have enough body to be able to pick them up easily without breaking them and then distribute them well on a plate.

Next, we add the rest of the ingredients that give the dish the most flavor. We start with a pinch of salt and distribute the crumbled feta cheese. We finish with a little eucalyptus honey and some mint leaves, to give it that fresher touch.

To put the finishing touch to the straight, we add a little ground black pepper and chop some eucalyptus candies over the watermelon with the help of a knife. In addition to providing a slight crunch, they give a lot of aroma to the dish. A secret touch that instantly elevates the recipe.
