Traveling and cinema are two of our favorite pastimes and we combine them whenever we can, visiting film locations with an extra level of spectacularity, precisely because we have seen them before on the big screen. For today's destination we follow the route of 'Sirât', the most popular Spanish film of the moment with nominations for the Goya 2026 and the Oscars. Did you think you had to go to Morocco? We have good news, you can visit their locations without leaving Spain.
The film takes us on an intense journey through desert landscapes that emulate the mountains of southern Morocco. However, many of those places are in Aragon. It is the case of the rave which begins the story, set in the Sahara desert and filmed on the Rambla de Barrachina, five kilometers from Teruel.
La Rambla de Barrachina is a reddish stone canyon famous for its aridity and extreme climate, with a steep relief full of gorges, natural clay sculptures carved by erosion and ocher tones, so impressive that it is nicknamed the 'Colorado Canyon of Teruel'.

Its appearance is so imposing that Oliver Laxe used it to recreate the Moroccan mountains at the beginning of the film, giving the scene of the rave a feeling of desert and dusty immensity. We're in luck, because this same Rambla offers one of the most amazing hiking routes in all of Spain (and now famous to the level of Hollywood).

This desert area is covered on a 12-kilometer circular route, which will take you about four hours due to its inclination and the terrain of sand and rocks that requires you to walk carefully. To get there, you have to take the N-330 road towards Cuenca and leave the car next to the bridge that crosses the Rambla, in a building on the detour towards Villaespesa.

Once you park, the walk begins in an upward direction and towards the Muela de Teruel, the highest point of this route with a geodesic vertex and an amazing viewpoint with panoramic views of the Albarracín mountain range, the city of Teruel, the Turia valley and the Javalambre peak. Afterwards, you continue along the path to return to the same point you started from. It is essential to bring water and a hat.
