Beyond trends, makeup is a great ally to achieve a fresher, brighter and more rested face, without having to resort to overly elaborate techniques. Sometimes, it is enough to choose the right products and apply them strategically to enhance the features, open the look or add light to the face.
The best natural anti-aging makeup is one that focuses on lightness, luminosity and flattering finishes, without hiding the texture of the skin or giving up freshness. Because, more than hiding the passing of the years, it is about enhancing natural beauty. With a few simple changes in the way we apply makeup, it is possible to achieve very flattering results that are easy to incorporate into our daily routine.
Professional makeup artist David Francés shares on his Instagram account several tricks to achieve a more elevated and open look without having to use too many products or resort to complicated techniques. The secret is knowing where to apply each product and how to blend it to enhance the eyes and provide a fresher and more rejuvenated effect to the face.
The expert explains that there is a wonderful trick to lift the eyelid, “we take the darkest color on the palette and apply it to the eye socket. This way, we will observe how the eye begins to rise,” he points out. In this case, David Francés does not use the classic brown, gray or black tones, but rather a pink shadow, the most intense in Elizabeth Arden's Quad Profoundly Pink palette. A demonstration that it is also possible to achieve this effect with soft and natural colors. “The darker you make the eye socket, the more the eye will rise. And it is still a very natural and subtle color,” highlights the makeup artist.
Additionally, to highlight the eyes even more, “if we put a little bit of that same shadow on the lower part of the eyelash, we will give depth to the look.” As it is a pink tone, it provides extra freshness to the makeup and, although the effect is subtle and almost imperceptible, as the expert points out, it makes a difference.
With just one shadow, the look changes completely: the eyes look more open, awake and rested. To finish off the makeup, David recommends applying a little mascara, but with a technique that makes the difference. Instead of placing the eyelash horizontally from the beginning, the makeup artist advises placing it vertically and using the tip of the brush to work the eyelashes one by one, from the roots to the tips. Afterwards, the brush is placed horizontally to complete the application and, finally, the tip is used again to separate and reposition the eyelashes. A simple trick that helps define the look without overloading it and that is perfect for achieving natural and flattering makeup on a daily basis.
