Helena Rodero, pharmacist: "When covering gray hair at home, you do not have to drag the product, the dye has to be deposited and saturate the roots well."

When you have gray hair, especially if it is dark, the roots are the first witnesses and require more attention and coverage, with continuous checks so that the white hairs are not noticeable. Many times, we use dye to cover them, dabbing with the brush and spreading the product. This is a mistake and will make it last much less time: hair expert Helena Rodero explains how to do it.

According to the pharmacist, the quality of the dye does not matter if we apply it incorrectly later. Covering the roots is not a matter of dragging the product with the brush as if we were painting a wall. “You have to deposit it, as if we were putting it on the scalp.”

Don't be afraid to saturate the scalp, because that way the pigment is absorbed better and reaches the newest and smallest roots, ensuring that the dye lasts longer as new. To achieve this, the expert shows how to dye them in a video.

The perfect formula consists of opening your hair along the part you usually use and applying the dye with the brush in small strokes, without dragging it towards the ends or spreading it. Next, continue with the hairline, the one that joins the scalp and the forehead, also depositing the dye there. In this way it is left to rest ensuring that all the gray hair has been covered.
