Candás has been a whaling port since the Middle Ages and its port is and has always been the epicenter and heart of the town. Currently, it maintains its breakwater and its boats rattling on the dock, surrounded by bars and restaurants on the Paseo Marítimo, which also runs along the beautiful urban beach of Candás to the right and the lighthouse to the left.
The Candás lighthouse is located in Punta del Cuerno, forty meters above sea level. This historic structure from 1917 offers the best views of the sea horizon in the entire town, surrounded by green meadows and cliffs with an unbeatable sunset.
In the center of the town is the Antón Museum, where all the work of the sculptor Antonio Rodríguez García is exhibited and is a mandatory stop. Nearby is the church of San Félix from the 10th century, which has been renovated in an Asturian neoclassical style; or the Candás Town Hall, located in an old 20th century Indian house with beautiful balconies and a burgundy façade.

Candás is famous for its grilled sardines, and they even have an annual festival to taste them. They are also rich in preserves and marañuelas, typical sweets of this town.
