If there is a versatile product when it comes to cooking, it is eggs. They can be eaten in infinite ways, although one of our favorites is the classic deviled eggs recipe. This dish has several versions, although most require tuna, mayonnaise and oil, but in this case we have decided to put into practice the recipe that Pilar, a cooking grandmother better known on social media as @yayapilii, shared with her followers.
Grandma's trick is to give extra flavor to this dish by adding serrano ham, a salty touch that never hurts. She is committed to putting in a generous amount and not skimping; Yes, it must be cut into very fine cubes. Here we show you step by step so that you can achieve a result better than that of a chef, that of a grandmother with cooking skills.
Ingredients for stuffed eggs
- 12 eggs
- 1 jar of tuna in olive oil
- 100 g chopped serrano ham
- 1 roasted red pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Mayonnaise
The step by step to crown ourselves with the recipe
We start by preparing the eggs and to do this we place them in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Once the water reaches the boiling point, let them cook for ten minutes. Then, we cool them under cold water to stop the cooking and peel them carefully.
Meanwhile, drain the tuna well and break it up with the help of a fork. You can opt for purchased mayonnaise or dare to make it yourself. If you choose the second option, you just have to put the egg in the blender glass along with the oil and a pinch of salt. Insert the arm all the way in and beat without moving until the mixture begins to emulsify. At that moment, we slowly raise the mixer until we get a thick and uniform sauce.
Next, we cut the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. To get a slightly larger filling space, we also remove a small amount of egg white from the center of each half using a spoon. We set aside one or two yolks, which we will use later to decorate, and we put the rest in a bowl.
We mash the yolks with a fork and mix them with the tuna, the previously chopped serrano ham and a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise. We stir until we get a creamy and well integrated filling. This is how we fill the egg whites and place them on a platter while we add a small amount of mayonnaise on top. To finish, we grate the yolks that we had reserved over the eggs and decorate with some strips of roasted pepper.
