While all the tourists go to Peñíscola, Castellón has another little fishing town full of monuments, good gastronomy and spectacular views of the eclipse. Nules is a medieval jewel with a walled town since the 13th century, bathed by the Mediterranean and without as much overcrowding as its neighbors.

Nules is a beautiful inland agricultural town, surrounded by orange groves that turn the entire environment orange and make it a fresh, summery and beautiful destination, with rural roads to enjoy these fruit trees in person. Its urban center is full of unique architectural heritage, with many 19th century altarpieces decorating alleys and facades.
Parish of Saint Bartholomew and Saint James
Nules is a town full of impressive religious temples. Proof of this is the parish of San Bartolomé and San Jaime, built in the 13th century and later renovated, which maintains its neoclassical style with its blue dome and its enormous bell tower. The 18th century Hermitage of San Miguel, known as El Fort for having been a barracks and now housing the Enrique Giner Medal Museum, is also a gem.
Next to Nules is Mascarell, an old town from the 13th century, walled in 1533 to protect itself from corsairs, which still maintains its framework and houses as in the past. Furthermore, between the town and the beach is the Roman town of Benicató, where remains of buildings and dwellings can still be seen.
Bolavar Beach
In 10 minutes by car you are on the coast, to discover the beautiful beaches of Nules. Rajadell beach is made of coarse sand and gravel, ideal for fishing, enjoying the sun and orange trees. Bolavar beach has the famous Nules lighthouse and L'Alcudia beach has several sand breakwaters that jut into the sea.
