How to make up a drooping eyelid step by step and achieve a rejuvenating and sophisticated result

Posted on 3 April 2026

There is no part of the body that escapes aging, and if we focus on the face, one of the great concerns as we age is the drooping eyelid. Many women who have this type of eyelid do not know how to apply eye makeup, and makeup, well executed, can be a great ally.

Makeup artist and influencer Elena Rachitskaya (@elena.rachitskaya) knows better than anyone how to do makeup for a hooded or drooping eyelid, since she herself has this type of eyelid. In one of her most viewed videos, she shows how to wear sophisticated makeup while hiding a hooded eyelid.

The first step to prevent wrinkles is the application of an eye primer, which in addition to keeping all the shadows in place will also help unify the entire eyelid.

The next thing to do is apply a shadow in a medium matte tone on the extra skin, apply it above the mobile eyelid, blending the shadow in the banana area. The next shadow that we are going to use is a light pink to give more space and luminosity. This clear leftover is applied in a dot on the tear duct and throughout the mobile eyelid. In this way we achieve a contrast between the mobile eyelid and the hooded eyelid that we have already darkened with that medium shadow in a light wine tone.

Next we apply a dark matte shadow with the help of a flat, thin brush flush with the eyelashes, both on the upper and lower eyelashes and then join the blending creating a subtle outer vee. For greater depth, we can take the same shadow and apply a little above the tear duct towards the eyebrow.

Finally, you have to mark the eyelashes well with the curler, as we well know that this beauty instrument works magic, opening the look and curling the eyelashes. Next, you have to apply the mascara. The influencer advises blinking your eyelashes over the applicator so that the product is uniform.
