Zara predicted it weeks ago and Carolina Herrera confirms it: this is (and is how it is worn) the trending accessory for fall 2026

Last Friday in the middle of New York fashion week, Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera once again gave a lesson in style by attending the presentation of her Spring-Summer 2027 collection with a look like only she knows how to create. With that mix of classic elements with extremely modern details that translate into impeccable and sophisticated styling (but also easy to copy).

The style was made up of a white shirt and black pants, two classics coming from her, since she has made them recurring basics in her closet, almost forming part of her identity. But as is often the case, the importance is in the details, specifically one that has returned this fall 2026: the sash.

This satin accessory is gaining more and more prominence and it clearly enhances the silhouette, enhancing a previously bland outfit. The designer opts for a green fabric with a bow to match her emerald earrings. And although their entire proposal looks fresh and trendy, there is a low-cost brand (luckily for us) that already opted for this accessory weeks ago.

Zara launched two pleated sashes with satin fabric, one in blue like the one in the image and another in a very sweet pastel pink, both for 22.95 euros. And although it caught us a little off guard, we recognize that this detail can elevate even a simple look with jeans or give new life to our satin skirt (the one we all bought two seasons ago and that we have worn in a thousand ways). In addition, it is a perfect way to enhance the waist or put the focus on the hips – as it has laces we can adjust it to our figure -, enhancing the hourglass silhouette.

Although the sash can be used for many outfits – as many as we want – we aim to emulate Carolina Herrera's outfit, which is why black wide-leg pants with a pleated finish are essential. In El Corte Inglés we find this design by Claudie Pierlot discounted by 265 159 euros.

The only thing left to do is add a white shirt – with rhinestones like Carolina's or without it if you prefer something simpler – and some stilettos black with a sensible heel. The result is an ideal look for an elegant dinner, a date or even an evening wedding.
