Its viewpoints, gardens and open areas and its castle are oriented towards the west, giving a perfect view over the city and rising above the light pollution emitted by its streets.
Parc de la Ciutadella
This park has it all: ancient trees, a monumental waterfall, 19th century palaces converted into museums, sculptures and even a lake. Do you know what else will be on the 12th? A very clear view of the eclipse, thanks to its open spaces without buildings. Of course, you have to go early to find a spot where the trees do not block the view of the horizon.
Carmel Bunkers
At the top of Turó de la Rovira, 262 meters high, there is a viewpoint in the center of the city, with 360º views of all of Barcelona. During the Civil War, there was an anti-aircraft battery here, which the population nicknamed “bunkers”, although they never really were. Today, it is a box of honor to see the solar eclipse without any obstacles on the horizon.

This Gaudí project is not only one of the greatest artistic attractions in all of Barcelona. It is also a way to enjoy the eclipse in a different way. The darkness and changes in light will be reflected in its mosaics, colored stones and white facades, allowing you to enjoy this astronomical spectacle from high places, such as the Tres Cruces viewpoint.
Tibidabo, the giant of Barcelona
Mount Tibidabo is 500 meters high and is close to the city, so it becomes a privileged setting to contemplate the eclipse. Its summit has views of the horizon without buildings, trees or obstacles. You can go up by funicular, but we recommend you go early and prepared for a large crowd.
