Helena Rodero, pharmacist: "It seems somewhat absurd but you have to eliminate the oil from the scalp to get the roots off."

Having fine hair can be a challenge when it comes to achieving more volume and body. Allying yourself with haircuts and hairstyles for fine hair is the basis for a good result, but so is knowing certain tips that make the difference.

Pharmacist Helena Rodero, hair expert, leaves us some tricks to improve that flattened root effect so characteristic of fine, straight hair. “When the hair is flatter, it sticks to the oil on the scalp,” he says.

The first piece of advice that Helena gives us is to wash the scalp well, something that many other experts usually place a lot of emphasis on in her different videos, since many times this highly internalized gesture of washing the head is not done completely well. “It seems somewhat absurd but you have to eliminate the oil from the scalp to get the roots off,” he explains.

In addition, to do it well, she recommends the use of shampoos with sulfates so that there is good removal of grease and dirt. “Make two passes with the shampoo, rubbing well with your fingertips,” emphasizes the pharmacist.

The second tip is one that we told you beforehand is very noticeable if you have fine hair. “Dry your hair upside down, this way it will hold cleaner and therefore you will have more volume at the roots,” says Rodero.

The last tip is about using dry shampoo, since as we well know, it is a product that, in addition to absorbing oil, also texturizes the hair. “It does not mean that you have to use it continuously, but as a preventive measure, a good dry shampoo can improve the appearance of the roots, much better than any product to lift roots,” says the expert.
