It seems incredible that in a place as touristy as Mallorca there can still be a place where it is possible to disappear from the world without ceasing to be in it. Camp de Mar, in the municipality of Andratx, between Calvià and the southwestern tip of the Balearic island, is that destination. A protected enclave that unfolds like a postcard cove where luxury is not announced as an aspiration but is hidden like someone keeping a secret.
Who knows this well is Claudia Schiffer, who for decades turned this area into her personal refuge and put it on the map. And at the beginning of the 2000s, he built his first summer house there, built on a cliff and surrounded by protected nature. Not only to achieve absolute privacy, but also as a way of life: discreet, isolated and with the sea always in sight.
Camp de Mar, since then, has become just that for many visitors looking for a quiet holiday in the Mediterranean.

What to see in Camp de Mar
Camp de Mar is not a destination of great monuments, but of landscape. Its main “attraction” is the bay itself: a U-shaped beach, with clear sand and waters so transparent that they seem to have been passed through a filter. The environment is surrounded by a Mediterranean pine forest and rock formations that protect the cove from the wind and reinforce that feeling of natural refuge.
In the middle of the beach appears one of its most recognizable symbols: La Illeta, a small islet connected to the shore by a wooden bridge. There is a restaurant that seems floating and the sea is part of the experience.
Although Camp de Mar does not have a historic center or religious buildings from centuries ago, it does preserve small traces of the past in the surrounding area, such as the Cap Andritxol defense tower, a 16th century construction that reminds us that this coastline was also a border and surveillance before becoming a luxury postcard.

Where to eat deliciously and without complications in Camp de Mar
Eating at Illeta, the restaurant located on the islet, is an almost scenic experience: you arrive by crossing the bridge and dine literally surrounded by water. The type of place matters as much as the menu.
On dry land, Flor de Sal opens to the sea with a terrace that functions as a natural viewpoint. Its Mediterranean cuisine fits perfectly with the landscape. Finally, a little further away, towards the surroundings of the golf course, Campino offers a more relaxed option, with green views and a more informal proposal, ideal for those looking to eat well and now.

What to do around Camp de Mar
A few minutes away is Port d'Andratx, an old fishing port converted into one of the most sophisticated enclaves on the island. There the promenade mixes yachts, art galleries and restaurants.
Towards the interior, the municipality of Andratx preserves a more daily rhythm, with stone streets, local life and a discreet but interesting cultural scene. It is the perfect contrast to make landfall after the coastal brilli brilli.

For those looking to delve deeper into nature, the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, opens up as a scene of trails and viewpoints. From Camp de Mar you can access routes that lead to the Cap Andritxol tower, a short walk but intense in views, where the sea can be seen from above as if someone had stretched it to infinity.
And for the more restless, the sea offers another escape: the island of Sa Dragonera, a natural park reached by boat from Sant Elm. A wild territory where the Mediterranean recovers its most primitive version.

Camp de Mar is not a place that is visited to tell things. It is a place where spending the summer will have been a success when you have the feeling that nothing has happened. Between the discretion of its houses, the calm of its beach and the presence of some of the most coveted residences in Mallorca, this corner of the southwest has perfected the luxury of disappearing without going too far.
