If Asturias has a reputation as a gastronomic paradise, it is not because of the number of Michelin stars or any other type of marketing, it is because of restaurants like Casa Eutimio that do not need any awards to accumulate decades of loyal customers. Located in a beautiful fishing village such as Lastres, bathed by the Cantabrian Sea, this restaurant has been serving meals since 1964. Although the Michelin Guide recommends it, its good reputation is due to worshiping seafood with the same infallible recipe as always: impeccable raw materials, traditional cuisine and zero artifice.
Located at number 9 San Antonio Street, in a location with sea views, Casa Eutimio is one of those traditional restaurants that do not need to reinvent themselves every season to remain relevant. Fresh fish from the port of Lastres and its surroundings rule here, treated simply but with skill. Sea bream on the back, hake in different versions, squid, stews… and always with variations on the menu depending on what has arrived that day.
Although its menu revolves around the Cantabrian Sea, there is also room for Asturian spoon classics such as fabada, pote or beans with clams. However, there are other dishes that are made very slowly and require prior reservation, such as the fish and seafood stew or the brothy rice with lobster. Among its most popular proposals are also the roasted Lastres octopus on creamed mushrooms, fresh squid on revolcona and hake on octopus stew.
One of their best-known snacks is the Cacholetus, their own version of the cachopo stuffed with boletus, which was awarded in a national contest in 2017. To this are added dishes closely linked to the season and products such as tuna with foie in summer, rice with bugre, fried viceroy or grouper with andarica stew

The restaurant, today in the hands of siblings María Busta Rosales in the kitchen and Rafael Busta Rosales in the dining room, represents the second generation of a family history started by Eutimio Busta and Aida Rosales. In addition to this location, the project includes its own artisanal cannery, with products such as cocochas, hake loins, squid in its ink or fish and seafood cakes, made with local raw materials and manual processes.
The experience is unbeatable because, in addition to luxurious dining and bringing you a canned souvenir, the establishment has a dining room with views of the port, a summer terrace and services suitable for all types of diners: options for celiacs, vegan dishes, possibility of a menu, takeout, service for groups and adapted space. It even has a hotel located in a typical Asturian mansion from the 20th century. A very interesting option for those who want to turn dinner into a complete getaway and get to know the town well.

Because, in a Lastres that is already special in itself due to its history, landscape and link with the fishing world, Casa Eutimio makes it an essential destination to discover Asturian seafood cuisine in its best and most honest version.
