Tried the Cologne That Smells Like Nivea Cream — It Feels Like I Just Showered

Posted on 2 November 2025

Two weeks ago I didn’t even know it existed and now it’s my favorite fragrance. And that’s noteworthy because, personally, I had been since I got tired of Libre by YSL, three years ago, looking for a new scent I actually wanted to wear. I’m talking about the Nivea creme eau de toilette. I’ll just say that the hype is real, although you should also keep some considerations in mind before buying it. I’m going to tell you about my experience.

The Best: The Clean Scent Without Having Showered

We confirm that the Nivea fragrance smells exactly the same as its famous blue tin. Therefore, it’s a blessing for those of us who adore this classic scent but never use the cream, whether because its texture feels too rich for us or for any other reason.

Being able to attest that both products smell the same is important because this fragrance, which by its nature should be purchasable even in supermarkets, is impossible to find in stores in Spain. Therefore, we can only order it online… So, on that front, you can buy it with peace of mind about what you’ll receive.

Its main base note is talc-like, but it also has lavender and citrus top notes, though its heart is floral. In addition to smelling good, it conveys a sensation of being freshly showered and clean that is very strong. Even when you’re in a messy bun and wearing pajamas and your appearance doesn’t match the aroma (verified firsthand).

That said, longevity isn’t one of its strong points… Don’t expect to leave the house in the morning and still smell like Nivea when you return. If you’re looking for a long-lasting fragrance, this one will disappoint you. In fact, it hardly lasts the 3–4 hours that a eau de toilette is supposed to last on the skin.

Nevertheless, this is a good thing for people like me who are overwhelmed by aromas that are too persistent and enveloping. This trait in colognes and perfumes always makes me end up hating them too soon and having to sell them on Vinted without having been able to amortize them at all. This is a problem you certainly don’t have with Nivea Creme. I keep reapplying to taste throughout the day or spritz my clothes and I don’t get tired of it.

The Worst: a Price That Doesn’t Match the Range

It comes in a glass bottle, completely white and semi-spherical, the most aesthetic. It looks adorable on the dresser, no doubt (though it would be nicer if the outer packaging were a giant blue tin instead of a cardboard box). However, nothing about this product justifies its price. Currently, the 30 ml bottle is priced at 29.99 euros on Amazon, which, while accessible for an average buyer, is steep.

NIVEA Eau de Toilette, Agua de Tocador para Mujeres, Colonia NIVEA, con el Perfume de la crema NIVEA, en Frasco y Lata de Regalo, 1 x 30 ml

Today on Amazon — 29,38

This becomes clearer when you do the math and realize that the 100 ml comes to 99.87€. With that amount of money you could buy the same amount (or less, but more lasting) of many high-end perfumes.

Considering it’s an everyday fragrance and you have to reapply several times a day, the bottle isn’t one that lasts you all year, so it’s expensive whichever way you look at it. Moreover, its price is far above other similar perfumes, whether in cost or in range.

For example, the 780 ml bottle of Heno de Pravia’s cologne. While it’s fair to note that an eau de toilette generally has higher concentration, the price difference remains enormous when you consider that the former costs less than five euros in any store.

Nevertheless, if we take other eau de toilette options of 30 ml as a reference, the difference stays the same because we have Adidas ones for 2.95 euros, Victorio y Lucchino floral waters for 5.95 euros, or even 50 ml of Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger for 19.95 euros.

Now, I have to admit that I will buy it again and not only that but I’m eager to try the other two fragrances (very expensive and also impossible to find in Spain) that Nivea offers: Sun and Men. That said, would I wear it for life if the price doesn’t drop? Absolutely not.
