Cancer Society Daffodil Day / 28 August / NZ Wide

Daffodil Day symbolises hope for all New Zealanders impacted by cancer. Since 1990, this iconic event has inspired people to come together and support the Cancer Society’s work. Donations go towards providing a wide range of support services, education and awareness programmes plus fund vital research into the causes and treatment of all types of cancer.

This whisky masterclass is a collaboration between Chef Tom and Whisky Galore. The event includes four courses matched with four whiskies chosen by Louis from Whisky Galore. A welcome dram on arrival and a social dram after dinner.

The Sea 2 Sky Challenge is a unique sports challenge based in Christchurch. The challenge comprises of an ocean swim, a stunning bike ride that climbs to the highest roads in Christchurch, before concluding with a hilly run along a scenic coastal trail. Open to individuals and teams along with a kids’ event.

Le Race / 19 September / Cathedral Square to Akaroa

Le Race is a 100 km road bike race from Christchurch to Akaroa. The event offers a number of options to enter including solo, as a team of four all completing the 100 km, tandem, relay, a shorter 53 km ride as well as a mountain bike challenge.

South Island Masters Games / 9–18 October / Timaru

Proving age is no barrier to participating, the Games hosts 30+ sports which attract thousands of competitors aged up to 95 and beyond from all over the South Island. The goal of the Masters Games is to encourage participation in sport where camaraderie and competition are equally celebrated.
